Coleonyx elegans

Coleonyx elegans, also known as Mexican(or Yucatan) banded gecko, is another american cousin of the so popular Leopard gecko. In beauty it rivals it´s cousin C mitratus. The care for this gecko is just as easy as it is for C mitratus.

In appearance  C elegans is very similar to C mitratus but it grows slightly bigger, has a more reddish tone of colour and has a somewhat different patterning.

Some specimens are partly or fully striped with a longitudinal stripe going from the top of the head to the tip of the tail. Personally I prefer the "normal" non-striped variety and thus I have chosen breeders without the stripe.
