Dixonius siamensis
As far as I know this species has no common name, at least not in Sweden. I more or less stumbled over them when visiting the Hamm show and of course I couldn´t resist them.
Originally they come from SE Asia and are part of a family of geckos that consists of only a few different species. It is a relatively small gecko with a snout-vent length of just about 6 cm and a somewhat longer tail.
Normally they are quite calm and peaceful but when hunting or disturbed they are incredibly fast.
They prefer temperatures in the 30°C range and a relatively high humidity. The preferred food is small crickets, fruitflies and other small prey.
I´ve also tried to offer them fruit and fruit baby food but it seems to be of no interest at all.
