Hemidactylus triedrus
Hemidactylus triedrus, also known as the Termite Hill gecko, is one species out of many in the very widespread and diverse family of Hemidactylus. Through their enormous adaptability this family of geckos has managed to colonize almost the entire globe except for the colder parts.
Hemidactylus triedrus is a relatively large Hemidactylus and can reach a total length of 15-20 cm(6-8 inches), the males being the largest.
Hemidactylus triedrus ranges from Pakistan in the north to Sri Lanka in the south and thus occupies a variety of different biotopes. I keep mine like my leopard geckos and that has proven to be a successful strategy.
H triedrus is very easy to care for and is a gecko with great personality. They are calm and very curious but may at times be a little aggressive when disturbed or nesting.
